So EV is compatible with all EVs. It just needs to be UK-registered and listed by the DVLA as electric or plug-in hybrid.
So EV works with all EV chargers.
Yes, you need a smart meter set to half-hourly readings to get So EV – so we can charge you 8.8p per kWh between midnight and 5am. If you don’t have a smart meter you can book an installation with us for free.
Yes, if you're currently a So Energy customer you can switch from your fixed tariff to So EV at any time, without any early exit fees.
That’s absolutely fine. If you have more than one EV, all the electricity you use to charge them will benefit from the So EV off-peak rate between midnight and 5am.
As a new customer, you’ll need to switch to So Flex first, then we'll get in touch when we're ready to switch you to So EV. This is to make sure your smart meter is sending half-hourly reads. Once it's checked, we can switch you to So EV – this takes about 7 days.

If you're an existing So Energy customer, it can take up to 5 days to get you onto the So EV tariff. You'll stay on your current tariff during this time.
