Check your car’s manual or visit the manufacturer’s website to see if your car uses a Type 1 or Type 2 connector.
A tethered charger has a charging cable permanently attached to the unit.
An untethered charger doesn’t have a permanent fixed cable.
Having a tethered charger can be more convenient because the cable is always attached, so it’s easy to plug in quickly. But an untethered charger can look neater on the wall.
With an untethered charger, you can still buy the right length charging cable if you need one.
